STAGE CHALLENGE

All these weeks of hard work and challenging experiences for the Stage Challenge participants. All workers tried their best to be able to stay in the group. Jazz group was a very pink-1-licious group and they were very glittery. Thats why they were shining out on stage. Boys Hip-hop group was tremendous and they had very skilful moves in their performance that i would be interested in to be able to learn them. The Poi group was showing alot of courage to their acts. I like the fact of them doing a poi act in front of the crews. The good thing was that they were very organised and showed alot of team work towards the team and towards the teachers. Last but not least the one and only Girls Hip-hop dance crew. They were rocking it out on their practice times. They took breaks after school and during school just to practice their routines which was a very bubbly idea. Many of the Hip-hop girls were trying their very hardest to not get kicked out of the crew. Becasue a few girls were not doing much and were acting like they new it all but at the end of it all they had no Facials and no movements. All of our practices were fun and enjoyable. Some people liked to go all the time and enjoy themselves, while the rest of them made up excuses for not attending. After all that hard work we finally performed to the school and i had a feeling that they wouldn't like it but they loved it. I was very glad and proud to perform in front of such a big crowd and that i didn't get Stage fright.

On Tueday 26th May 2009 the Stage Challenge crew travelled down to the Convention Centre on the bus at approximately 9:15am. When we arrived, the first step for us to do was to feel welcomed and have our morning tea. We then went into the Chambers to have a meeting with the rest of the schools. Everybody was going wild. There were spot prises being handed out to many people. My friend Neveda won a drink bottle and almost everybody caught a glow stick. Once that ws finished we had our rehearsals on stage and they were fun.We had 3 rehearsals before the real show. Then when it was our break time we went back to where we put our bags and started playing a game called Ninja with one of the schools called Forest View High from Tokoroa. Along time later it was time for our performance and we performed outrageously. We were awarded six awards and the whole group was thankful.

Well done Kaitao Middle School!!!!!!!!

MARAE TRIP

When we arrived we were welcomed on to the Marae by a lady doing a Karanga it was very fascinating and she had a very neat voice. We were invited inside were it was warm and cosy. The was a man called the Kaumatua who done a little speech in Maori. Inside was very amazing because there were very neat carvings that some people had done inside the Marae. While we were inside the Kaumatua was talking about the Ancestors of the Marae and how the Marae was built.Inside the Marae it was cool because he told us one side of the Marae repesented the past and the other side repesented the future. After that all had finished we all went out side for a quick nibble and a snack the we were off to Te Puia...I was so excited to be going to Te Puia because i had never been there before. We were all split up into our class room groups and we givin a guide to tour us around Te Puia, our guides name was Weronika she was very kind. I had so much fun at Te Puia and i learnt lots of cool things. It was so cool we got to see the bubbiling hot Mud Pools and steamy Geysers.Another we got to see was this man that was carving on a big large piece of wood it was amazing to see all the patterns that he was doing. I had such a blast at the Marae and Te Puia and learnt lots of interesting things, it was a great experience.
